Naloxone (also known as Narcan) is a safe medication that can reverse an overdose that is caused by an opioid drug such as prescription pain medication or heroin. It works by neutralizing the opioids in your system and helping you breathe again.

The Massillon City Health Department offers Naloxone (Narcan) kits for FREE. You can obtain a free kit at the Massillon City Health Department, and will be given instructions on responding to an overdose and the application of the Naloxone medication. We also have free Fentanyl test strips. If you would like to receive a free Naloxone kit or free Fentanyl test strips, call the Massillon City Health Department at (330) 830-1710 or stop in during business hours.
