Outreach Division

Serving. Our. Community.

The Massillon City Health Department’s outreach efforts reflect our strong commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of Massillon residents, addressing basic needs, and promoting community health and safety.  Our Outreach Services Coordinator continues to play a vital role in the success of our initiatives.

In 2025, the Massillon City Health Department’s outreach program experienced remarkable growth, with over 40 community events attended. Among the many impactful programs, the Community Health Garden stands out as a big accomplishment in 2025. Over 330 pounds of fresh produce were harvested and distributed to St. Joseph's Soup Kitchen, TOSM Helping Hands pantry, Walnut Hills, Serving Area Military Center, Massillon City Schools Obie Mobile, and the Salvation Army Massillon Center.  In 2025, the Pop-Up Pantry (sponsored by the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank) has already to-date distributed free food to well over 1,000 families!

Food Assistance

The Outreach Division coordinates the Akron/Canton Regional Pop-Up Food Pantry on the 3rd Tuesday of Each Month from 12:30pm-2:30pm. We have already served well over 1,000 families in 2025!

Heart of Ohio Diaper Bank

The Massillon City Health Department serves as a Community partner site for the Heart of Ohio Diaper Bank.  Over 2,000 diapers are distributed to Massillon families on a monthly basis!

Community Events

We are honored to be present at over 40 Community Events throughout the year.  At these events, we provide information on our services and literature to promote the healthy living of our residents.
