For New Home Construction

In addition to your Building Permits (Building–Electric–HVAC–Plumbing) your sub-contractors are required to obtain the following permits:

Sanitary Sewer Permits

Sub-Contractors for sanitary work must be licensed and bonded with the City Engineer’s Office.

The sanitary tap permit must be obtained by the licensed excavator and inspected by the City Inspector.

Curb, Sidewalk, Driveway Permits

Sub-Contractors for concrete work must be licensed and bonded with the City Engineer’s Office.

Concrete permits cover the driveway approach, curbing and sidewalk and ADA ramp.

Concrete permits may be obtained by the homeowners. However, you must still use a licensed concrete contractor and have the work inspected by the city.

** ADA Curb Ramps are required at all roadway intersections in the City of Massillon. **

These permits are required for all new homes and must be obtained before a Certificate of Occupancy will be issued.

Please inform your subcontractors of these requirements.

We Thank You For Your Cooperation.
